The optional prompt for January is “looking forward”. However, before I introduce that properly I would like to thank everyone who took part in the last link up: Christmas and Other Treats for December. There were reflective posts, and a useful post on SAD and how we can reduce the risk of seasonal depression. It is heartening to know that others have found the positives in what can only be described as an unprecedented year.
Covid stole 2020 for many, and there is no guarantee that we will be back to “normal” at any point. But that doesn’t mean we have no future. Quite the opposite.
Looking forward can feel difficult, especially when faced with such uncertainty as we do daily.
Each year we get to start a new chapter, and 2021 is no exception. But never before have we had such a clean slate to begin writing on.
The new year is traditionally a time for looking forward and planning ways to achieve goals. If this is the case perhaps you have some that you would like to share?
Or maybe you don’t set your resolutions on New Year eve? Is there something else happening this month which feels exciting?
The long nights of winter in the northern hemisphere are gradually receding. Has this given you the impetus to start looking forward to spring and summer?
But that’s not all.
For me this space is as much about having somewhere to come back to and reflect on the silver linings when times are challenging. Hopefully we can make it into a treasure trove of positivity? A gratitude journal for us all to share and benefit from.
